Black plays the offbeat 3...Be7, sidestepping all Tarrasch theory while keeping the position flexible. Popularised by Morozevich and other modern players, the Universal System is hard to refute - Black can transpose into Closed Tarrasch structures or steer into unique positions depending on White's reply.
