White avoids the Open Sicilian entirely with 2.Nc3 followed by f4, building a King's Indian Attack-style kingside assault. Hugely popular at club level for its straightforward attacking plan: Bb5 or Bc4, O-O, and a quick f5 break. Black must develop quickly and counter on the queenside before White's attack arrives.
